In 1952 by Nathan Swartz, founder of Timberland, bought a fifty percent share in The Abington Shoe Company in Boston, Massachusetts. Later in 1955 he bought the remaining share of the company and then changed it's name to 'Timberland' in 1972.
Timberland is an American manufacturer and retailer of outerwear and footwear. Although Timberland's specialty footwear is designed for hiking and mountaineering, the brand became so popular that people started to use the shoes as casual wear.
Timberland's corporate headquarters rest in Stratham, New Hapshire but they also operate from many stores and offices across the world.
